How to locatejournal articles with Summon Advanced Search
From the library homepage,choose the Advanced Search link on the Summon tab:
Here’s what the advanced search page looks like:
You don’t need to fill in everything. We recommend:- Put search terms in the first box, with any phrases in quotes- Show content type – choose journal article- Show Only – check the first two boxes- Exclude from results: check what you don’t want
Advanced Search saves time because you’ve already started refining your search.
Now, narrow down your subject terms. Choose some to include or exclude: < click for list Tip: You don’t need to choose include or exclude for everyterm. You can sort bynumber of articles or alphabetically while reviewing the list.
Publication date is another useful filter. Now that you’ve refined your results, the mostrelevant ones will appear on the first page. Click titles or full-text links to view that article.
