Meaning
• The present perfect is a grammatical
combination of the present tense and the
perfect aspect, used to express a past event
that has present consequences
FORM
• [has/have + past participle]
Use
• For something that started in the past and
continues in the present:
They’ve been married for nearly fifty years.
• For something we have done several times in
the past and continue to do:
I’ve been watching that programme every
week.
• When we are talking about our experience up
to the present:
Have you ever met George?
• For something that happened in the past but
is important at the time of speaking:
I can’t get in the house. I’ve lost my keys.

Present Perfect Simple
• means action that still going on or stopped recently but
has influence in the present.
• Positive :
Subject + have , has + Verb 3
Ex: I have seen that movie two times.
Present Perfect Simple
• Negative :
Subject + have , has + not + Verb 3
Ex: He has not spoken.
• Question :
Have, Has + Subject + Verb 3?
Ex: Has he answered your massage?
PRESENT PERFECT CONTINUOUS
• means action that happen in the past and continue to the
present and the future.
• Positive :
Subject + has/have + been + V.-ing
Ex: I have been speaking.
PRESENT PERFECT CONTINUOUS
• Negative :
Subject + has/have + not + been + V.-ing
Ex: She has not been watching the television.
• Question :
Has/Have + Subject + been + V.-ing?
Ex: Have you been working?
Passive/Active Voice
Meaning
Passive voice is used when the focus is on the
action. It is not important or not know. However
who or what is performing the action.
-Structure:
Subject + Verb to be + Verb3 + by + Object
-Example;
1. The book was written by me.
2. I was punished by the teacher.
Active voice
Meaning
Active voice describes a sentence where the
subject performs the action stated by the verb.
In passive voice sentences, the subject is acted
upon by the verb.
-Structure:
Subject + Verb + Object + adj./adv.
-Example;
1. Sara read novel in one day.
2. I will clean the house every Sunday.
just already yet
just already yet use in Present perfect
• Yet
-Meaning at any time up to now/ until now
-Use with Question,Negative Answer
Ex:
Has he come back yet? (Question)
No,he has not come back yet. (Negative Ans)
Note: In questions, yet is at the end of the
question.
• Just
-a short time ago
have/has + just + V3
Ex:
They've just left.
(They left only a short time ago.)
They've just finished.
(They finished only a short time ago.)
• Already
-before you / I expected
- usually comes in mid-position.
have / has + already + V3
Ex:
I’ve already finished my homework.
They've already arrived.
Time Expressions
• are used to indicate the time at or which an action took place
•FOR (duration) Ex: I've been here for two hours.
•SINCE (point of time) Ex: I've been study at Satrinonthaburi
school since 2011
•HOW LONG...?(to ask about the duration) Ex: How long have
you been in Thailand?
