  6. 6. *Issues include:-Infrastructure (Internet connections, electricity, space)-Network (Works on a school computer)-Bandwidth (Not too slow)-Email (Many Web 2.0 need email)-Filtering (Children’s Internet Protection Act)-Sound and Screen size (Need to hear well, see well)-Student skill level (They know games, but not necessarily Word, keyboarding, etc. skills)
  7. 7. *Connecting to the Internet-Computer labs, carts of computers, a fewin each room, 1:1 (provided by school or“bring your own”)-Variety of devices (Chromebooks, iPads,laptops, netbooks, ChildPad, smart phones,Kindle, etc.)-Variety of programs (Google, Office, etc.)-“Paperless” is becoming a key word

  9. 9. *Computer Programs-- Teachers-Attendance/Grading, i.e. Infinite Campus-Substitute, i.e. AESOP-Lunch-Library-AEA—Online, Catalog-Professional Development—AEA, PBSTeacherLine
  10. 10. *Online/Hybrid Courses-Moodle-Edmodo-Iowa Learning Online-ICN-Flipped Classrooms
  11. 11. *Computer Programs-- Students-May be expected to incorporateprograms into instruction-Essential Skills-Scholastic-Skills Iowa-ePortfolio—artifacts for each IowaCore standard/benchmark-Many textbooks online, orenrichment, etc. parts online
