supposed to have influenced the jungle book.
But the truth is the early Romans were really only farmers living

Rome was growing but at the same time so
was a place called Carthage. Carthage was
in North Africa. Carthage owned three
islands in the Mediterranean sea. Rome felt
they should own them. This started the

The rich and poor ate very
different meals. Ientaculum was
eaten usually by the poor for
breakfast. They would have
prandium for lunch and cena for
Rich Roman food.
The rich had a huge selection of food.
Breakfast and lunch could be exotio fruits.
At dinner they would eat boar venison, wild
pig, goat, mutton, lamb, hare, doormice and
almost ever known type of bird. They ate a
selection a vegtables with this. Sometimes
this would be served up to a group of people
for celebrations. Celebrations like that could
go on for over eight hours.
Roman men wore knee length tunics with a
thin sort of cloak draped over it. Ordinary
people were only permitted to wear cream
tunics. It made the important people stand
out in appearance. Roman women wore a
longer tunic down to the ankles. Most people
wore simple sandals or no shoes at all.

• In Germany millions of people were imprisoned and
killed because they did not fit into Hitler’s image of

Jews. Around six million Jewish people died during
World War 2 in one of history’s most terrible events
• The US didn’t join until 1941, when Japan
attacked the United States naval base at Pearl
Harbour in Hawaii
• On the 8th December 1941 the US declared war
on Japan and in turn, its German allies.
• In 1944 an allied army crossed from Britain to free France
from Nazi’s rule.
• In 1945 allied armies invaded Germany forcing the Germans
to surrender on the 8th May 1945
• After nuclear attacks on Japan’s major cities, Japan also
surrendered to allied forces
• In August World War 2 had ended
• It’s estimated that around 64 million people died
in World War2, that’s more than the entire
population of the United Kingdom

The Allies included Britain, France, Russia, Italy and the
United States. These countries fought against the
Central Powers which included Germany, Austria-
Hungary, Ottoman Empire and Bulgaria.

Walt was discouraged so he signed up for Red Cross as a
volunteer ambulance driver. He was still too young, but
he convinced his mom to sign the papers and he
changed the 1 to a 0 on in his birth year.
Food during ww1
Fresh meat was getting harder to come by and the
ration was reduced to just 6 ounces of 'bully beef'
(which we call corned beef today). Soldiers on the
actual front line got even less meat and vegetables than
this. 'Maconchie's meat stew' and hard biscuits was a
meal that many soldiers ate.
