  2. 2. What is it used for…..?<br />A sling psychrometer is used to measure relative humidity or how much moisture is in the air. <br />
  3. 3. Who invented it….?<br />John Leslie(1766-1832) invented the Sling Psychrometer. <br />
  4. 4. How it works….<br />The way scientists measure humidity on this instrument is by connecting two thermometers together. One is a normal thermometer and one has a cloth wick attached to it. The one with the cloth wick is dipped into water and then both thermometers are attached to a handle and whirled around. If the air is very dry then the thermometer with the cloth wick on it will become very cold because the water on it has evaporated.   5. 5. What It looks like….<br />It looks like two thermometers attached to each other, and one thermometer has a cloth wick on the end of it. <br />
  6. 6. Extra info….<br />There is a table that they compare the temperature to, to see how humid it is.<br />Also, it is very easy to make your own Sling Psychrometer.<br />
