1. 1. Climate Change
By Emma Dean &
Isabella Fuscellaro
2. 2. What Is Climate Change, the Greenhouse effect and Global Warming?
Greenhouse effect- Long waves of radiation are trapped into the Earth’s atmosphere after being warmed. Responsible gases of this Greenhouse effect are water vapor and carbon dioxide.
Climate Change- Climate change is the effect of change in weather and refers to seasonal changes over a long period of time.
Global Warming- Global Warming is the increase of Earth’s average temp. near the surface air and oceans in recent decades and it projected continuation.
3. 3. How Do They Relate?
Climate change, Greenhouse effect, and Global warming all relate to the different ways the Earth is warmed and cooled. They all are very important and effect the Earth in many ways.
4. 4. Primary Causes of Global Warming
Increase of greenhouse gases caused by human activity
Burning fossil fuels, oils, and gases
Low supply of non- renewable fossil fuels
5. 5. Consequences
Scientists predict that during the 21st century the Earth could be warmer by 7.2 degrees.
Affect weather patterns, our health sea level, glaciers, and plants and animals.
6. 6. Global Warming Impacting Our Economy
By not trying to eliminate global warming we are spending more money on fixing what global warming has done.
Warmer weather means dried out soil and forests. Leads to bad farming and more wild fires.
Global warming has polluted out atmosphere and our oceans. More money we must spend to try and reduce the pollution.
7. 7. How We Can Help
Use Electric cars
Cut down on electricity
Use warmer water during summer and cool water during winter
Keep air conditioners and heaters on low
Recycle
Use local transportation
Use solar panels in your home
8. 8. Basic Arguments
Scientist believe that human activities don’t threaten to disrupt the earth’s climate
People believe that the money spent to reduce greenhouse gas emissions is going to be expensive and threaten state budgets
People believe that government is spending money to reduce greenhouse gas emission but it will not stop Earth’s climate from changing
9. 9. Our Opinions
Global warming has great effect on the Earth and it could really do some damage in the future. We believe that it our job to try to eliminate as much of the human elements of global warming as possible.
