A NY-CHPS compliant school also will have improved classroom features, such as natural daylighting and improved indoor environmental quality. These improvements contribute to a better learning environment that has been shown to contribute to reduced absenteeism and better teacher and staff retention . Savings of 10 to 20 times the cost of the initial investment have been identified in several national studies of high-performance schools when compared to schools designed only for code compliance. </li></ul></ul>
