3. 3.

I believe this event is the most memorable because it was the first time the USA had chosen an African American man to be the symbol of its nation. In addition, I believe it is an added plus point for the USA. We have know set a precedent that can be followed by other countries in which a person from a minority can be given the highest executive position of the nation.

 5. 5.

I strongly believe that this event would be the most outrageous because a trusted government official turned out to be a fraud. In my opinion, I believe that Blagojevich disrespected the people of Illinois by trying to sell President Obama’s senate seat. Therefore, I feel that the actions taken against him were fair. Blagojevich can now be associated with other corrupt officials before him such as Elliot Spitzer and Napoleon Bonaparte

 7. 7.

In my opinion, the landing of Flight 1549 on the Hudson River was amazing. I credit Captain Chesley Sullenberger as well as the entire crew aboard that plane for their feat. Many pilots would have panicked in the face of such a hardship. The fact that Captain Sullenberger, a former US Air Force fighter pilot, was able to keep his nerves under control and save a plane full of passengers is just amazing and wonderful.

 9. 9.

This event is definitely controversial. Congress should not be bailing out these once multi-billion dollar business companies. They are at fault for investing in incorrect locations. These companies flew to Congress in PRIVATE JETS!!! It just goes to show how hypocritical they can be. Yet at the same time, Congress is a victim of circumstance because by not bailing out these companies, billions of people could lose their jobs.

 11. 12.

In my opinion, this event can be interpreted in a number of ways. The fact is that when former President Bush visited a news conference in Baghdad, Iraq, he was assaulted by a news reporter with a shoe. This was embarrassing to our president, and furthermore, the USA, being that the president is the living symbol of our country. Yet, at the same time, this event was a disrespect to each and every American citizen. Although everyone is entitled to protest, there are other nonviolent methods to share one’s opinion. Throwing a shoe, however, is purely childish.

 13. 14.

November 26, 2008 was a very peaceful day in India. That was until the nation experienced a surprise attack on one of its major cities, Mumbai, which was financed by a radical militant group that is currently situated in Pakistan. This day was quite catastrophic because many innocent civilians died in the name of hatred and faith. The attack also caused many long-term problems, including the prevention of any peaceful measures taken between India and Pakistan.

 15. 17.

Bernard Madoff seemed to be doing pretty well with his Ponzi Scheme. He simply showed his investors someone else’s money and made it look as if they were being profited. That was until he got caught and was put behind bars. I find this story to be quite ironic. Bernie Madoff thought that he would be living his life very lavishly through his scheme. Yet, after his conviction, he now lives with a jail buddy inside of a cooped-up cell.
