  11. 11. VYGOTSKY’S (1978) SOCIO‐CULTURAL THEORY  children’s higher mental functions are developed through interacting with others who are more capable than them cognitively.  Collaborative learning could provide an antidote to this situation by creating multiple ZPD (Oshima,1998).
