  2. 2. What is a bird ? <ul><li>Bird are like mammals and they are warm blooded but they lay egg </li></ul><ul><li>Every birds have feather and wings </li></ul><ul><li>There are more then 9,000 species of birds </li></ul>

Why do Birds sing? <ul><li>They sing to mark territory and attract mates </li></ul><ul><li>Only males sing but if they are northern cardinal both sexes sing. </li></ul><ul><li>Their singing only attract females, they can also scare males away. </li></ul><ul><li>Most bird have their only song but all mimics do other birds songs </li></ul><ul><li>Birds don’t only sing one note they can also can sing two notes. </li></ul><ul><li>The way young know there parents songs is because something in there brain remember </li></ul>

Types of birds <ul><li>Backyard birds </li></ul><ul><li>Ground birds </li></ul><ul><li>Hawk eagles and vultures </li></ul><ul><li>Hummingbirds </li></ul><ul><li>Owls </li></ul><ul><li>Seabirds </li></ul><ul><li>Shorebirds </li></ul><ul><li>Swimming birds </li></ul><ul><li>Wading birds </li></ul><ul><li>woodpeckers </li></ul>

  6. 6. My Favorite Bird American Kestrel <ul><li>The smallest falcon </li></ul><ul><li>They often fly in midair looking for mice, sparrows ,or large insects </li></ul><ul><li>This bird only comes out in the summer </li></ul>
