Jackson's canada lynx!

  1. 1. Endangered Canada LynxBY: Jackson Gearing
  2. 2. What Does it Look Like? Reddish brown fur About 28 teeth Feet shaped like snowshoes to pounce at prey Beard simi- -lar to Bobcat
  3. 3. Here’s What it Looks Like! Average Weight is about 8-11 kg. 80-105 cm in length Males are typically larger than females Very Similar to Eurasian Lynx
  4. 4. What Does it Eat? The Canada Lynx tends to eat Horseshoe Hares 60-97% of they’re diet. They will eat birds, mice, and larger prey iffood becomes scarce though. The Canada Lynx seems to huntvery coordinately in packs. Sometimes when they can’t finishthey’re prey in one sitting, they will drag it in they’re den tostore it for later.
  5. 5. What’s it’s Range? Most of Canada Alaska Northwest United States  Montana  Idaho  Oregon  Washington  Minnesota New Brunswick Northern New England
  6. 6. What Biome Does it Live in? The Canada Lynx lives in thick, boggy, swamp-likeconiferous forests. They also are known for having habitats inrocky, snowy forests filled with conifers. Conifers are trees withneedles like pines, firs, and spruce.
  7. 7. What is Interesting About ThisAnimal? Considering their unique diet, the Canada Lynx’s population greatly varies on the Snowshoe Hare’s population. If the Snowshoe Hare’s population goes down, so does the Canada Lynx Some researchers are debating whether the Canada Lynx is the same to the Eurasian Lynx
  8. 8. Why is This Animal Endangered? The Canada Lynx isendangered because ofmajor habitat loss. This is notthe main reason though. Inthe 1900s, the Canada Lynxpopulation faced a massivedecline due to fur trade.Luckily though, the CanadaLynx population is making acomeback. But PLEASESTOP FUR TRADE
