  2. 2. <ul><li>Listen to the sounds in shot. </li></ul><ul><li>Stretch the sounds /shshsh/ /ooo/ /t/ as you write sh, o, t. </li></ul><ul><li>Point to each letter and say the sounds again. </li></ul>
  3. 3. <ul><li>Now listen as I change /o/ sound in the middle of shot to /or/; /sh/ /or/ /t/, short. </li></ul><ul><li>Point to each letter and say the sounds with me. </li></ul>
  4. 4. <ul><li>Try These Examples: </li></ul><ul><li>bone </li></ul><ul><li>pot </li></ul><ul><li>spot </li></ul><ul><li>cone </li></ul><ul><li>fox </li></ul><ul><li>Great Job!!!! </li></ul>
  5. 5. <ul><li>You can now read words like pot and shot . </li></ul><ul><li>The o in pot and shot has the short vowel sound. </li></ul><ul><li>Lets look at some words that has an o followed by the letter r . What sound will these words have? </li></ul>
  6. 6. <ul><li>Write the letters or for /or/. </li></ul><ul><li>As you write, say the sound to yourself. </li></ul><ul><li>Now say the sound aloud. </li></ul><ul><li>When the letter o is followed by an r , the o has the r-Controlled sound: /or/. </li></ul><ul><li>Lets try some examples </li></ul>
