  2. 2. Life Cycle of a Chicken <ul><li>The stages of a chicken’s life cycle is… </li></ul><ul><li>An egg- It is laid by a hen. Some eggs have an embryo inside them. It will take 21 days for the chick to hatch. </li></ul><ul><li>A chick- The chick is wet when it hatches from the egg. </li></ul><ul><li>Its feathers are called “down”. They like to eat seeds, bugs and worms. </li></ul><ul><li>A chicken- After six months, a chick becomes a chicken. The hen will then lay more eggs. </li></ul>

  7. 7. From Egg to Chick Day 17 Day 21 What is happening? -The beak turns towards the air cell. -Exhausted, wet, alive-the chick has hatched!
