Statue of Liberty <ul><li>France gave us the Statue of Liberty in 1886 as gift. </li></ul><ul><li>The Statue of Liberty symbolizes freedom. </li></ul><ul><li>Finished in April 1886 and was closed for 100 days for construction. </li></ul><ul><li>It is on Liberty Island </li></ul><ul><li>Her real name is Liberty Enlighten the World. </li></ul><ul><li>It represents the friendship between France and New York, during the American Revaluation. </li></ul>
  3. 3. Erie Canal <ul><li>The Erie Canal is famous in song and story. </li></ul><ul><li>It was built in 1808 </li></ul><ul><li>It was finished in 1825 </li></ul><ul><li>President Madison persuaded New York to have the river and soon the put a canal there and the name was Eire Canal. </li></ul>

War Memorials <ul><li>It is a building that celebrates victory. </li></ul><ul><li>There are museums that show all the peoples names who died in World War 2. </li></ul><ul><li>There are services there at the museums. </li></ul><ul><li>Memorial Day was created by John A. Logan and he wanted to celebrate the graves and people in the Civil War. </li></ul>

Mary Jemison <ul><li>She lived in Philadelphia </li></ul><ul><li>She was born in Summer 1761 </li></ul><ul><li>Her daughter died soon after her birth. </li></ul><ul><li>Letchworth detected Mary in 1990 after she died. </li></ul><ul><li>Her parents names were Jane and Thomas. </li></ul><ul><li>The ship they boarded to was called William and Mary. </li></ul>
