  3. 3. WELCOME Welcome to a tribute to mothers. Today we come to celebrate our mothers and those in our lives who love and nurture us and others.
  4. 4. Mothers are God’s special people who deserve our great love, honour and admiration. Mothers are our greatest strength and our greatest comfort. Please stand and join in our opening hymn, Welcome to God’s House
  5. 5. Penitential Rite Father: Jesus, you love us at all times. Lord, have mercy. All: Lord, have mercy.
  6. 6. Father: Jesus, you forgive all our sins. Christ, have mercy. All: Christ, have mercy.

  8. 8. Opening Prayer Let us pray: Mothering God, you love us and care for us in all our needs. We give you thanks for our mothers and for all the women in our lives who love us and care for us like mothers. We pray that you will bless them in all that they need. We ask this through Christ our Lord. All: Amen

  20. 21. Father : Let us now pray through the intercession of Mary to our heavenly Father, asking Him for His protection and love.

  24. 25. Reader: We pray for all mothers and women in our lives that have been like a mother to us: grandmothers, aunts, sisters and family friends. Lord, hear us. All: Lord, hear our prayer.

  28. 29. Father: Lord, you care for us with a father’s love. Listen to these prayers which we make in faith and keep us always under the protection of Mary, our mother. We ask this through Christ our Lord. All: Amen

  37. 38. Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done on earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation: but deliver us from evil.
  38. 39. For the kingdom, the power and the glory are yours, now and forever. Amen
  39. 40. Sign of Peace Lord Jesus Christ, you said to your apostles: I leave you peace, my peace I give you. Look not on our sins, but on the faith of your Church, and grant us the peace and unity of your kingdom where you live for ever and ever. All: Amen. The peace of the Lord be with you always.   45. 46. Blessing of Mothers All mothers and those who are like mothers stand in their places so that we can pray a special blessing.
  46. 47. Father: Loving God, pour out your abundant grace and blessings upon these women who mother and care for their children. May each of them be strengthened according to their need and rejoice in your love and peace. All: Amen.
  47. 48. Prayer after Communion Father: Let us pray. As we proclaim Mary to be mother of the Church and our mother, may our communion with Jesus her son bring us happiness and peace. We ask this through Christ our Lord. All: Amen
