Give Me LIberty - Chapter 1

  1. 1. The Boston Tea Party December 16, 1773
  2. 2.   <ul><li>  </li></ul><ul><li>  </li></ul><ul><li>  Thousands of boys and men dressed </li></ul><ul><li>up as Mohawk Indians </li></ul>
  3. 3. This is what the colonists dressed up like.
  4. 4.   <ul><li>  </li></ul><ul><li>  </li></ul><ul><li>  </li></ul><ul><li>The colonists dumped three  </li></ul><ul><li>ships full of tea into the  </li></ul><ul><li>Boston Harbor. </li></ul>
  5. 5. The colonists dumping tea into the Boston Harbor.
  6. 6. A crowd gathered by the thousands to watch the tea being dumped.  
  7. 7. The crowd gathered to cheer on and support what the Sons of Liberty were doing.
  8. 8.   <ul><li>  </li></ul><ul><li>Everything was left in the same place it was when they arrived, except the tea that was dumped. </li></ul>
  9. 9. The British Admiral in charge watched the whole fleet from an upstairs window.  
  10. 10.   <ul><li>  </li></ul><ul><li>After they cleaned off the ship's decks they marched back in a single file line. </li></ul>
  11. 11.   <ul><li>  </li></ul><ul><li>Soon after the tea party, that night a song was heard all through the town. The beginning went like this... </li></ul>
  12. 12.   <ul><li>Rally, Mowhawks! </li></ul><ul><li>Bring out your axes, and tell King George </li></ul><ul><li>we will pay no taxes! </li></ul><ul><li>On his foreign tea! </li></ul>
