Due to the tracing of photographs, and the photo-realists ability to create an almost exact replica of the photographs, Photorealism has been criticized as not being art. <br />A lot of artists paint using a photograph, until the photorealist the paintings were merely a resemblance of the photo. With photorealism (in most cases) the art is hard to distinguish from the photograph. <br />Photo-Realist devote large amounts of time creating the magnificently deceptive paintings and sculptures. <br />
