Apply moisturiser, bit of concealer and mascara, and maybe a bit of Lip-gloss if I am seeing Cal! Evening: Same! (without make-up!)Female, 332/5/12 9:54am Morning - moisturise face and body. Im currently slapping lots of oil on the bump! Make-up - eye shadow, eye liner, mascara and a bit of blusher. Evening - Im very lazy and just take make up off with a make up removal wipe. Should moisturise again but rarely do!Moderator2/5/12 10:05am Thanks guys. Any foundation or powder? What do you do if its a special occasion?Female, 362/5/12 4:15pm For special occasions I take a bit more time, put a bit more effort in applying & put more on.Female, 362/5/12 10:07am Morning: I scrub my face in the shower, get out apply moisturiser & liquid foudation and apply makeup, ususally eye liner, blush, eyeshodow, and mascaraEvening: face my face with a scrub & get all the makeip offFemale, 402/5/12 10:14am Morning: wash face in the shower. No moisturiser, as I am too lazy and dont really need it as my skin feels fine and not dry.Make up: foundation first, blusher in powder, black eye pencil inside my inner lashes, eye shadow, mascara, lipgloss or lipstick.Evening: nothing..Female, 312/5/12 10:58am Morning: use a face wash in shower, moisturise, use a tinted moisturiser, concealer and maybe some blusher and eyeshadow. I use a dye on my eyelashes one a month as I tend to smear mascara all over my face by the end of a day at work. For special occasions I use
different eyeshadow colour and add mascara and eyeliner. If not at work I just moisturise and use some concealer under my eyes.Evening: use face wash and moisturiser.Female, 312/5/12 11:03am I use a face wash in the morning and moisturise the apply tinted moisturer or liquid foundation depending on what coverage I want for Im doing that day- may put a little blusher and mascara on.Evening I take off my make up with a wipe sometimes moisturise but usually only if skin feels dry dont do it religiously like I should! Got a diff night cream thoughModerator2/5/12 11:07am Thats fab, thank you all. What are you feeling like when you are doing your skincare/make- up routine?Female, 332/5/12 12:27pm Morning- wash face in shower with water, moisturise. I am usually cajoling my elder son to get dressed, singing some nursery rhymes (out of tune) to keep the twins from screaming in frustration as they are in a travel cot to keep them out of mischief and hurry hurry hurry!! Evening- moisturise and I am usually thinking of all the things I should have done that day but havent! For a special occasion i use a tinted moisturiser, concealer (alot to hide the telltale dark circles!), powder, eye liner, mascara (providing it hasnt dried up between special occasions!), coloured lip gloss. And I am usually thinking arrrgh I am late!Female, 332/5/12 12:29pm morning: facewash, make up (tinted moisturiser, mascara, eyeliner (sometimes), concealer, face powder).evening: facewash, toner, moisturiserFemale, 352/5/12 12:43pm In the Morning - use a gentle face wash or just water because my skin gets very dry. Apply moisturiser, mascara and sometimes eye cream if I remember. When I go to work I apply face powder, blush, eyeshadow, eyeliner and mascara and when I am going out in the evening. In the Evening - I wash it in the shower or bath with a gentle face wash, apply night cream and eye cream.Moderator2/5/12 12:49pm Great thanks all. So far it seems like we all follow a fairly similar routine. What does everyone else think?
Female, 462/5/12 1:03pm Hi camwash with soap & cold waterapply moisturiser wtih spf and anti aging , if going out use superdouble face powder as foundation, (or mineral powder) blush and slick of eyeshadow, and lipstick, it takes no longer than 8 mins start to finishhave eyelashes tinted to save mascara messHow do I feel? Like a woman ou ou ou (thanks shania)Female, 462/5/12 1:04pm oops evening take it all off with foaming cleanser of cream clenser to make sure theres no residue, cold water, towel dry and superhydtate moisturiser,Have done the same for over 25 yearsFemale, 312/5/12 1:25pm Morning: wash face in shower with oil of olay facewash and then oil of olay moisturiser.Evening: same routine but use the sink!I use mainly mac or laura mercier products for make-up. How do I feel? Harrassed! Usually I have my daughter sitting with me moisturising my shoulder-blades with eye-wrinkle retinol A cream to keep her quiet. My routine is get made-up as quick as possible! Actually we make it into a good game and play beauty salons at the same time.Special occasion? Always do eye-liner and properly curl eyelashes.Female, 322/5/12 1:38pm Morning and night I use cleansing wipes and moisturiser on my face. I also use coco butter on my body in the mornings and stretch mark cream. It usually feel rushed getting ready in the morning and tired at night!Female, 312/5/12 1:40pm Morning: Cleansing - wash face with Boots No.7 Beautiful Skin foaming wash for Norma/Oily skin, then use same brand exfoliating scrub, whilst showering (multi-tasking Mummy!) Make- up - Benefit eyeshadow primer, Christian Dior eyeshadow, Rimmel or Benefit blusher, Christian Dior eyebrow powder, Max Factor Masterpiece Max mascara, Barbara Daly for Tesco cream eyeliner. Have got routine down to sub 10mins. My husband will take the children downstairs and give them breakfast so I can get ready in peace but sometimes, when Im running late, (this morning, for example!) I put my makeup on in the lounge while the children play In the evening (well, early hours of the morning for me) I use a facewipe (currently using Johnson & Johnson Normal/Oily skin wipes) to remove makeup. Special occasion? Exactly the same but maybe a bit heavier on the eyeshadow and mascara if its an evening do and possibly a bit of glitter:-)Moderator (a comment)2/5/12 2:46pm
Lovely, thank you. Very glam!Female, 312/5/12 1:42pm Oh, Boots No.7 Beautiful Skin Normal/Oily skin moisturiser in the mornings before makeupFemale, 342/5/12 1:46pm Hi!In the morning I dont wash face with water but use a toner. Then Moisturiser. Lip balm. Some bare minerals face powder. Then if time cream blusher, bronzer. If going out. Liquid foundation, powder, blusher, bronzer, lipgloss, eye pencil and shadow and mascara- yep pile it on!At night Im sooo lazy and use face wipes. Toner, and If skin dry some more moisturiser.Moderator (a comment)2/5/12 2:46pm Fab thanks!Female, 342/5/12 5:12pm Morning I clean my face with a cleanser/toner in one, followed by one of those moisturisers with a teeny bit of fake tan.... then always some mascara as a bare minimum, but generally a bit of under eye concealer, light foundation and blusher....and something to make my eyelids a bit sparkly if I have time Evening...Im lucky to have good skin and Ive got lazy over the years as a result and very rarely take my makeup off (dont judge me!)Female, 322/5/12 5:23pm Morning cleanse and moisturise, make up goes on foundation, powder, eye makeup. Sometimes a bit of lip gloss but as long as the eyes are done I feel ok to face to world!Female, 322/5/12 5:24pm Sorry, evening - remove makeup, and again cleanse and moisturiseFemale, 312/5/12 7:43pm I just wash with water and dont wear make up not that I dont need it I just dont wear it.The same in the evening unless Im going out then tinted moisturiser and mascara.Moderator (a comment)2/5/12 8:34pm
Thanks Belinda, how come you dont wear make-up?Female, 412/5/12 8:16pm I wash with simple soap in the morning, then use the simple skin wipes, then use a moisturiserr (preferably a sun factor 15 one). I use Mitchell deodorant. I wear Egoist pour LHomme (because it smells nice), and I use Maybelline on my eyelashes, and Maybelline 24 on my lips.Moderator (a comment)2/5/12 8:35pm Do you know what moisturiser you use? And how come you use Maybelline?Female, 41 (a comment)2/5/12 9:06pm Moisturiser is Olay right now. I use Maybelline because I tried several sorts of lipstick and theirs works best for me. I use their mascara because it works well for me too,Female, 362/5/12 8:58pm Dont really have a skin care routine, wash face in shower am and pm not with anything in particular, whatever is to hand. Dont really wear make up unless its a real special occassion and then it would probably just be mascara and lip glossFemale, 372/5/12 9:47pm I wash my face in the shower with Liz Earle stuff then moisturise. Make-up (if its a good day) is eyeliner and bronzer plus concealer for those dodgy bits. No make-up if its a bad day. Usually manage to moisturise my body in an attempt to get rid of stretch marks but its probably a losing battle...Absolutely no cleansing routine in the evenings. Apart from teeth cleaning. Sorry! If Im going out then I use Liz Earle foundation, Lancome eyeshadow, Benefit mascara, eyeliner, bronzer, lip gloss. And then hope to remember to take it all off again at the end of the night (hot flannel, no soap).Female, 382/5/12 10:01pm Morning - facial wash in shower, exfoliate every few days. Serum, moisturizer and then my make up, which is foundation, eye shadow and make up, mascara and blusher.Evening i use make up remover and use water on a cotton wool pad to tone, then nighttime moisturizer. I love doing my make up when I have the time. It is a little bit of me time everyday.Female, 38
2/5/12 10:12pm Oh yes, forgot to say I also moisurise my body in the morning as often as I canHas your skincare / make-up routine changed since having children?Female, 332/5/12 11:51am Not really. Probably did in the first few months after giving birth - I think my make up bag got pretty neglected and I doubt I bothered with moisturising much! Except my face.Female, 332/5/12 12:29pm Yes, I did wear makeup most days before I had kids but now I just dont feel I have time in the mornings and then I would have cleansed in the evening to take the makeup off. Otherwise my skin care routine hasnt changed though, Ive always been lazy!!!!Female, 332/5/12 12:31pm No - just quicker and less tidy!Female, 312/5/12 12:41pm My routine for work has not changed but I probably wear less makeup when not in work as I have less time to get myself ready.Female, 352/5/12 12:44pm Yes, dont spend as long putting make up on. Have my makeup in my bag so I can do it on the run if I need to. Take care of my skin a bit more.Moderator (a comment)2/5/12 12:50pm Great. What do you do to take care of your skin more?Female, 35 (a comment)2/5/12 1:28pm Use more masks, eye creams, wrinkle filler, spend more money on creams etc and go for facials more.Moderator (a comment)
2/5/12 2:48pm Ah ok, and why is that?Female, 35 (a comment)2/5/12 2:53pm Feel like I need it and also need to take care of myself more. Also have time during hte day when oldest daughter is in nursery 2 days a week to go for them with a small baby (wont last for long).Female, 462/5/12 1:05pm My skin has changed, but not the routine. Ive gone from sensitive oily t zone to dry!!Routine is the same though I spend more days at home with just lashings of moisturiser and lip balm instead of full war paint.Female, 312/5/12 1:26pm Skincare routine not changed. Ive used moisturiser since I was about 12 after reading that Joan Collins had always used it and thought she had amazing skin!I used to spend a lot longer doing my make-up but now its speedy speedy every day!Moderator (a comment)2/5/12 2:47pm brilliantFemale, 312/5/12 1:38pm No not really! Didnt really look after my skin before either! Use same sort of makeups just time permitting with the girlsFemale, 322/5/12 1:39pm Yes I used to exfoliate and use a body brush and spend more time on myself in the mornings. I also used to have long relaxing baths with bath salts...now its just a quick dip.Female, 342/5/12 1:48pm Since having children probably wear less make up. Certainly during the day rarely get round to putting mascara on!
Moderator2/5/12 2:51pm It seems like lots of us are saying its changed in the sense that we have less time to do these things, rather than we dont care about them. Would that be right?Female, 362/5/12 4:13pm Skin care hasnt really changed and generally neither has makeup routine, however often now I may not put on as much. Even if I am staying at home I do put on some to feel good about myself but may skip the eyeliner.Female, 342/5/12 5:13pm I now use under eye concealer..I didnt need it before!! Othe rthan that - everythings pretty much the sameFemale, 322/5/12 5:25pm No, I havent changed my morning or evening routineFemale, 312/5/12 6:19pm Yes definitely a case of having to be speedier these days rather than changing the routine or not caring :-)Female, 312/5/12 7:45pm Yes I used to wear the most horrible orange powder when I was at high school.I now wear none or little.Female, 412/5/12 8:19pm I think its much the same. I guess I have figured out what works?Female, 362/5/12 9:00pm Before kids i used to wear make up most daysFemale, 372/5/12 9:49pm
The difference is no longer going in to an office where I would always have some make-up on - now it depends if I have time. Skincare routine itself hasnt actually changed, just the make- up.Female, 382/5/12 10:03pm Not much, except I sometimes dont get past foundation with the makeup! I try and wer make up,everyday as it makes me feel good about myselfFemale, 402/5/12 10:55pm not really..I was lazy with my skicare routine before, and still am..As far as make up goes, I have never worn much but I am using the same amount now after three children. Not so much when I am at home, but to go to wotk I always wear it or to go out in the evening. Now I want to look at those steps in a bit more details and find out if you are happy with yourroutine or do you want to change it? e.g.are there any steps in this routine you love / hate /want to skip etc?Is there anything you would like to do but currently dont?Female, 342/5/12 9:48am I would love to do the whole cleanse, tone and moisturise routine, but I am allergic to it all!Female, 332/5/12 9:56am I find moisturising quite boring. And I should do more of it at night time. Quite happy with it all though. I do think men have got it far easier though by not having to bother with make up!Moderator (a comment)2/5/12 1:29pm I think mine has more products than me now!Female, 362/5/12 10:08am I think that I really just do the basics. I know I she do the whole routine: clean, tone and moisturise. Its just a case of having time and inclinationModerator (a comment)2/5/12 1:30pm Do you think there is anything that might make you find the time & inclination?
Female, 362/5/12 4:20pm Dont think there is anything that would make me, maybe just a kick up the butt to make the effort. If I look in the mirror and think man I better do something as I am looking old.Female, 402/5/12 10:20am I think I already do so little that couldnt skip anything. I wish I would clean my face with make up remover in the evening and apply a cream but really I cant be bothered..Female, 312/5/12 11:01am Im happy with my routine. I do get lazy sometimes and clean my face with baby wipes though if Im tired in the evenings. id ideally get more sleep so I looked better without needing makeup but that doesnt happen with young children and work!Moderator (a comment)2/5/12 1:30pm too true!Female, 312/5/12 11:04am Im with little lavender and anniemoon :)Female, 332/5/12 12:28pm And me!Female, 332/5/12 12:33pm I dont want to change it - except if I had better skin Id probably just moisturise and go!Wish I had more time for face masks occasionally...a bit of an indulgence these days:)Female, 352/5/12 12:49pm Happy with it. Only thing that would be a good invention would be to have a skin cream on one end and an eyecream on the other so you can do it quickly and remember to do it! Would like to have the time to use face masks more and any other creams that would be great for your skin.
Moderator (a comment)2/5/12 1:31pm Thats a good idea. And what type of cream would it be?Female, 35 (a comment)2/5/12 1:35pm It would be available in a day and a night cream, would have SPF in the day cream and all the properties expected for a moisturiser for a women in her thirties (busy Mums).Moderator2/5/12 12:52pm Great thanks guys.Female, 462/5/12 1:07pm I am very happy with what i do I wish i could have eyelash tint more often though (cash flow permits not) as it makes a huge difference not having messy towels - and for swimming- but I can only afford once every 6-8 weeks so have to use mascara for the last two weeks- yuck.Moderator (a comment)2/5/12 1:31pm That sounds like a great thing - where do you get it done? In a salon?Female, 46 (a comment)2/5/12 1:49pm yes, my roving beautician has now started work in swindon. so I go to Regency hotel spa.... It is amazing how often i could fall asleep on those beauticians beds, yet if someone said hey sleep on a plank id say no LOLyou cant move or open your eyes so you have no option but to relaxFemale, 31 (a comment)2/5/12 9:52pm I tint my own. Can get a pack in boots for about £7 and is really easy to do. A pack lasts me about a year or so as has lots of applications so is much cheaper than a salon tint.Female, 312/5/12 1:29pm I love moisturising as i can feel my skin "drinking" it in as my skin goes very taut if I literally dont do it the second I am out of the shower.I would possibly bother with an occasional face mask if I had any spare time!
Female, 322/5/12 1:45pm I am happy with my routine really. But if I had more time I would exfoliate more often and I love a face mask every now and again - I cant remember the last time I had one of those! I would also have regular facials if I had the time and the money!Female, 342/5/12 5:18pm Pretty happy - wish they could invent something to really easily clean off mascara, but havent ever found anything Im really impressed with to dateANd I know I should take care each evening to wash my face etc but I know this will only chnage if I start getting loads of spots or wrinkles!Id also love the odd facial, but more for the pampering than the benefit it would have on my skin... but its too much of a luxury these daysFemale, 322/5/12 5:27pm Im happy with my routine - reasonably quick and simple. I dislike the removing of make up esp mascara so would agree with a previous poster that I would love to try an eye lash tint to see if it actually makes much differenceFemale, 342/5/12 6:55pm Im happy with my routine (if you could call it that!) I dont have time for eye cream tho, which I feel I should use. Perhaps a face mask now and then would be good for my skin too. Starting to worry about wrinkles....Female, 312/5/12 7:47pm I need to spend more time drinking water and less tea, mosturise more or even at all and maybe learn to put eye liner on.I need more pampering to the face area I think.Female, 412/5/12 8:24pm Im happy. I wash, then I cleanse, then I moisturise. My makeup is pretty minimal, but its fine by me.To be honest, I am 41, I have found out what works for me.Female, 362/5/12 9:05pm Despite not having a particular skin routine, my skin is in pretty good condition, I might change this as I get older thoFemale, 37
2/5/12 9:55pm Id like to use wipes at night to cleanse but think the smell reminds me of pooey nappies and the beauty ones are expensive and probably bad for the environment so I just dont bother.Eyelash tints are amazing and are my luxury every few months. If I had all the money in the world I would have my hair done every week. That would be truly wonderful.Female, 382/5/12 10:05pm I am a bit rubbish at the nighttime routine and often skip it nowadays. Otherwise I wouldnt change anything
