TYPES OF PHOTOGRAPHY <ul><li>STILL LIFE </li></ul><ul><li>Capturing objects on camera that are deliberately grouped together to create a certain composition. </li></ul><ul><li>Photographer should pay attention to composition and lighting. </li></ul><ul><li>Creating texture and adding interest to otherwise normal objects. </li></ul>
  5. 5. <ul><li>NATURE </li></ul><ul><li>LANDSCAPE- highlight natural beauty of places </li></ul><ul><li>WILDLIFE- animals against beautiful backdrops </li></ul><ul><li>CLOUDSCAPE- various images of clouds; Black and white works nicely </li></ul><ul><li>ARCHITECTURAL- different styles of architecture in different light; very technical </li></ul>
  6. 6. <ul><li>PORTRAIT </li></ul><ul><li>Capturing the mood of a person with an emphasis on the face and expression. </li></ul><ul><li>Not only about professional models, ordinary people make for some of the most stunning portraits. </li></ul><ul><li>There are many creative ways to make a portrait look interesting and feel emotional. </li></ul>
  7. 7. <ul><li>FINE ART </li></ul><ul><li>Visuals that resemble works of art. </li></ul><ul><li>Highly creative images with an abstract appeal. </li></ul><ul><li>Equivalent to an artist’s expression on canvas. </li></ul><ul><li>Requires the photographer to have the ability to look beyond the obvious. </li></ul>
  8. 8. <ul><li>SPORTS </li></ul><ul><li>Captures the best action images from any kind of sport. </li></ul><ul><li>Must capture images with great speed and precision. </li></ul><ul><li>These photographs are mainly used by publishing houses and media outlets. </li></ul>
  9. 9. <ul><li>BLACK & WHITE </li></ul><ul><li>Offers vast options for photographers. </li></ul><ul><li>Timeless appeal can be used for any topic. </li></ul><ul><li>Need to use lighting and textures apart from composition to be rewarded with appealing and beautiful photographs. </li></ul>
  10. 10. CAMERAS: DIGITAL, MANUAL, CELL PHONE <ul><li>Digital cameras allow for greater ease in photo taking and sharing. Because of this, we will be using these cameras almost exclusively. </li></ul><ul><li>We will have access to some manual cameras and even cell phone cameras. </li></ul><ul><li>Pictures can be emailed to [email_address] and will, with permission, be posted on Mr. Martella’s Webpage via Flickr. </li></ul>L LIGHTS, CAMERA, ACTION!!
