2. 2. Professional Truck Driver Training.
This AIT trucking school program provides an in-depth background to the trucking industry.
thorough introduction to long-haul driving, including mastery of skills to successfully deal with life on the road, family relationships and the financial responsibilities that stem from being away from home.
program is structured with sufficient driving time to enable trainees to develop the truck driving skills necessary for progression into the externship portion of the training.
Externship provides the trainee with the opportunity to experience and gain knowledge and proficiency from real-world driving situations that cannot be simulated such as; interstate and international transit, weigh station procedures, trip planning and various cargo handling and reporting skills.
3. 3. Professional Truck Driver
The knowledge and professional driver training skills obtained enable graduates the opportunity to advance to positions beyond the basic duties of driving a truck. Successful completion of the program initially qualifies graduates for a wide range of jobs, up to and including, a non-supervised solo driving position. The Professional Truck Driver Institute (PTDI) certifies the Professional Truck Driver program at the main campus in Phoenix. PTDI is a national, non-profit organization sponsored by the nation’s trucking industry to improve truck driver training.
10. 10. GET PRE-HIRED BEFORE YOU BEGIN TRAINING !
Our economy is dependant on trucking, so it is no surprise that the transportation industry is the second largest employer in the US. Even in a slow job market there is a constant demand for qualified professional drivers. AIT's goal is to train you to be a safe, professional, money-making driver and if you desire, help you find a job with one of our preferred carriers. Please select a carrier below to learn more about their company offerings, salary and benefits.
11. 11. Swift Transportation
12. 12. From David M. Jewell (Driver Recruiter)
Swift Transportation is the largest irregular route carrier in the U.S. We have grown from 2 trucks in 1965 to over 16,000 today. To enable us to grow as rapidly as we have we have hired a very large number of entry level drivers Some of the keys to success in our business are safety and retention or low driver turnover. Where a person receives their training can have a very big influence on both of these issues because of what values are addressed while in school. Swift has hired many drivers trained at A.I.T. and found that they met and exceeded our needs in all respects. A.I.T. offers many different programs to allow a driver to be trained to meet their schedules as far as nights, weekends, full or part time. A.I.T. is one of the few schools that uses state of the art equipment and their instructors are some of the best qualified in the business Swift has been extremely satisfied with the drivers we have hired from A.I.T.
13. 13. Werner Enterprises
14. 14. From Mike Kellis
Werner Enterprises has been recruiting and hiring student drivers from American Institute of Technology for over fifteen years. We find AIT students to be among the best trained and safest student drivers we hire. With a true dedication to quality training and their continued commitment to their student driver’s success, Werner Enterprises highly recommends AIT to anyone looking to start their career as a professional driver.
