  1. 1. Matter and Energy By Jackson Bowman
  2. 2. Energy QuickTime™ and a GIF decompressor are needed to see this picture.
  3. 3. Potential energy Potential energy is energy at rest. When an object is higher it has more potential energy. The heavy the more energy.
  4. 4. Kinetic energy Kinetic energy is energy in motion. The faster you are the more kinetic energy you have.
  5. 5. Chemical and physical Properties
  6. 6. Chemical properties Chemical changes are permanent- you can’t change it back. Combustion, flammability, rust, reaction with chemicals are examples of chemical properties.
  7. 7. Physical properties Physical properties can be reversed.Examples ofPhysical Properties are mass, texture, size, density, volume, and smell.
  8. 8. Hear transfer
  9. 9. Conduction The way heat transfer though conduction is touching. EX: touching a hot stove will burn your hands.
  10. 10. convection Convection is when water moves in a circle and heats up. EX: A pot of boiling water.
  11. 11. Radiation Radiation is when rays of heat go to an object and heat it. EX: Sun rays heating your hand.
