  1. 1. 21 Citizenship Unit II A Citizen is an individual with certain rights and duties under a government and who, by birth or by choice owes allegiance to that government. 14th Amendment Birth: Anyone born on U.S. soil and subject to Defines the jurisdiction of the U.S. government. Citizenship Naturalization: Any one that goes through the naturalization process. • Demonstrate knowledge of American History and principles • Read, speak, and write words in ordinary usage in the English Language.
