  2. 2. Historian <ul><li>Government: In Jamaica if you break the laws and rules, you can be empelled or arrested. </li></ul><ul><li>For example: If you sell “marijuana” you can spend many years in jail or you have to pay a big amount of money. </li></ul>
  3. 3. <ul><li>Natives: Many years ago,Jamaica was full of the Arawak natives. After Columbus death this natives were completely gone. </li></ul><ul><li>The Arawak were the first people living in Jamaica. </li></ul>
  4. 4. <ul><li>Europeans: </li></ul><ul><li>Most of the explorers and settlers of Jamaica were their ancestors. Most immigrants come from China and India. </li></ul>
  5. 5. Geographer <ul><li>Meteorologist: Temperature in Jamaica range between 80 degrees Fahrenheit and 90 degrees Fahrenheit. The hottest months are July and August and the coolest month is February. The rainiest months are May, June and sometimes in October, November or December. After every rain it appears the sun. The hurricanes occur from the 1 st June to November 30. </li></ul>
  6. 6. <ul><li>Botanist: Thanks to the tropical climate, Jamaica has a lot of plants. </li></ul><ul><li>Some plants are: the palmetto palm, coconut palm, mahogany, rosewood,longwood, </li></ul><ul><li>ebony… </li></ul>
  7. 7. <ul><li>Zoologist: Again thanks to the tropical climate, there are a variety of animals in Jamaica. </li></ul><ul><li>The most common type of animals is the bird, we can found a huge variety of birds in this country. </li></ul><ul><li>Some are: the cuckoos, the hummingbirds, parrots… </li></ul><ul><li>There are reptiles too like: the Jamaican Iguana, lizards… </li></ul>
  8. 8. Entertainment Specialists <ul><li>Music and Dancing: The music of Jamaica includes Jamaican folk music and many popular genres, such as mento, ska, rocksteady, reggae, dub music, dancehall, reggae fusion and related styles. </li></ul>
  9. 9. <ul><li>Art: </li></ul><ul><li>In art the Jamaican people generally paint the heads of the people and as colors de use clear colors. </li></ul>
  10. 10. <ul><li>Celebrations: Thanks to the extreme popularity of Reggae Music, our music festivals are well known. </li></ul><ul><li>National Holidays: We have ten national holidays, four of which are Christian holiday. </li></ul>

Exporting <ul><li>Agriculture: In my opinion </li></ul><ul><li>Jamaica’s best product is the </li></ul><ul><li>blue mountain coffee that in </li></ul><ul><li>my opinion is the best coffee. </li></ul><ul><li>However Jamaica is not so good, </li></ul><ul><li>and in the last year Jamaica was </li></ul><ul><li>declared the 2 nd main producer of </li></ul><ul><li>marijuana (a drug made up of a medical plant). </li></ul><ul><li>And then the rum is probably the best rum in the world. The apple rum is considered premium rum, in my opinion it should be the best rum in the world. </li></ul>
  12. 12. <ul><li>Industry: The bauxite (a type of aluminum) its one of the best industrial products that Jamaica produces. </li></ul><ul><li>Jamaica also exports other kinds of products like: furniture and clothes. </li></ul>
  13. 13. Importation <ul><li>Agriculture: Jamaica imports some essential products like potatoes, wheat, tomatoes, etc. </li></ul><ul><li>Jamaica needs these products for the population in it; Jamaica generally buys frozen products like vegetables or fruits. </li></ul>
  14. 14. <ul><li>Industry: Jamaica´s economy depends in its industrial imports like: Fuel, machinery, petroleum, etc. Also it imports construction materials such as: cement, bricks, and others. Jamaica wouldn´t be as big as it is now, due to the construction materials. </li></ul>
