Lesson 1- Big Ideas <ul><li>10,000 -15,000 years ago people started traveling across the Bering Strait land bridge to North America (chasing food) </li></ul><ul><li>Over thousands of years they spread out across the continent into four primary regions (PNW,DSW,EW,P) </li></ul><ul><li>Each region was unique based on their resources, climate, and geography </li></ul><ul><li>Agriculture allowed people to stay in one place </li></ul>

Lesson 2- Big Ideas <ul><li>People settled near water because it provided water for crops, a source of food (fish), and transportation for trade </li></ul><ul><li>Native Americans are grouped together as one people but they had different languages, cultures, ceremonies, and histories </li></ul><ul><li>They used ceremonies and celebrations to honor nature, for social purposes, and religious ceremonies </li></ul>
