  • Great post. I wish you had included the topic performance measurement. Workers should be evaluate (by their managers) by what they deliver, ie code written, sales closed, articles written, products shipped, happy clients, etc, etc. The 'you should work in the office' mentality is based on legacy evaluation metrics like how often you sit at your desk, or my favorite, how late you stay in the office (even if you show up at 11AM).

    Also I think the Yahoo policy should really be viewed as a Yahoo-only issue. Who knows what's going on over there, maybe re-building the team around a physical location is what they need to rebound? What's good for Yahoo probably has nothing to do with the rest of us. ;)

  • @josericardodasilva Interesting... Just a reminder, though, that this presentation is meant to counter the arguments against telecommuting (some which were in the Yahoo memo). We're not in a position to say whether Marissa Mayer made the right decision, but, as a virtual company, we are in a position to discuss the positive aspects of telecommuting.
