1. 1. SMART PHONES
3. 3. WHATARESMARTPHONES?
Compared to normal mobile phones, smart phones are added with different
Functionalities for example mobile phones are made for making phone calls and
Messaging. A smart phone works as a portable digital device or a mini computer
Which you carry with you at any place you go. With a smart phone you can do all
Most everything in just a small device that allows you to serve the internet , play
Games online, send and receive emails, record videos and so on.
1
Different type of smart phones
4. 4. OWN VIEW
Smart phones have a very good effect in education, medically and in the
business environment.
2
Arguments that support my view about smart phones
In community hospitals and clinics without wireless networks where the majority of physicians work, real-time access to current medical literature is achieved through smart phones. Surveys showed that students prefer using handheld PC’s over the alternatives of raising their hands. Smart phones has an advantages regarding laptops and PC’s namely the availability, network connectivity and price.
5. 5. SMART PHONES TODAY
Smart phones have become a real advantage for everyone including adults, youth
And even teens. Their easier to use in the business environmentand in schools.
Many people use smart phones for different uses for example, to send and receive emails, do researches, listen to music and play audios and videos.
3
7. 7. Are cheaper than laptops
 8. 8. Time efficient
 9. 9. Its easy to carry around with you, can fit in a pocket
 10. 10. Can keep in touch with social networking
 11. 11. Has a data plan that enables you to use the internet
 12. 12. You can surf the internet and send emails where ever you are not having

to carry a PC or a laptop

Instead of carrying many devices with you, you can use it as an MP3 player

video player and PDA(personal digital assistant) all at the same time
4
13. 13. DISADVANTAGES
THE FOLLOWING DISADVANTAGES CAN BE CONTROLLED

Expensive compared to mobile phones.

But very cheap compared to laptops and PC’s.

Smart phones are a form of distraction to drivers which leads to accidents

But if people become responsible individually this wouldn’t be a problem.

Teenagers are being exposed to bad things in the web

Parents can set up restrictions on their children's phones.

Doctors are too focused in their smart phones.

In order to look for more information regarding how to treat patients better
from other professional doctors and they answer questions online regarding
different diseases.

Students always in chat rooms.

Students can be responsible to use smart phones to do their researches and so on.
DEATH
5
14. 14. STATISTICALINFORMATION
In the year 2007 there were about 4,8% people who were using
smart phones, the number grew to 9,9% in 2008. Statistics shows that
Only around 3,4% women used smart phones opposed to 6,1% men.
People in the age group of 25 to 37 years are the ones who use smart phones,
29% of them. There are only 4,9% users who are 65 years and older. There are
10,4% in the age group of 18-24 years. People between 45-54 years see about
18,2% users, and there are only about 13% users in the age group of 55-63 years.
The sales of smart phones are increasing every year all around the world.
6
15. 15. INFORMATION ABOUT RESEARCH THAT HAS BEEN DONE ON SMART PHONES
WHICH RESEARCHERS HAVE UNDER TAKEN RESEARCH?
WHAT WAS THE RESEARCH QUESTION?
WHAT WAS THE AIM OF THE RESEARCH?
7
Sergio A Leon, Paul Funtelo, Michael Ackerman and Fang Liu
The study implemented and evaluated a point of care wireless Internet access
Using smart phones for information retrieval during daily clinical rounds and
Academic activities of internal medicine in residents in a community hospitals.
They did the project to assess the feasibility of using smart phone as an alternative
to reach on the medical sources because they were unable to find previous studies of this type. In addition, they wanted to learn what web-based information resources internal
medicine residents were using and whether providing beside, real time access to medical
information would be perceived useful for patient care and academic activities.
16. 16. RESEARCHFINDINGS
WHAT FINDINGS DID THE RESEARCH OBTAIN?
Users perceived technology maturity is a critical factor to explain and predict
the use of mobile technology by mobile professionals.
Mobile technology needs to be available in a broad variety of use situations.
Users require basic communication and productivity related functionality
in particular to support non-routine and supervisory task profiles.
Mobile technology can have considerable impacts on the Job performance
and on the personal lives of its users.
With a smart phone there is no use of going to the internet cafe and sit for long hours
in front of a computer screen.
Smart phones are appropriate for mobile learning , its a device that can be easily
carried by students.
HOW DO THE RESEARCH RESULTS SUPPORT YOUR ARGUMENT?
It has shown that many people all over the world have found mobile phones
Very productive and time efficient. It has made their lives much easier in terms of
Education and in the business environment.
8
17. 17. CONCLUSION
According to the research I have done regarding smart phones I can conclude that
smart phones have really made live easier for many people all over the world.
Students find it easy to research about their school work and doctors are able to help
patients online by giving them medical advice. And over the past years there seem to
be an increase of people who buy smart phones every year ,so this shows that many are
finding it very helpful and their really not that expensive as some people may predict.
And by looking at the disadvantages, their not something that individually
we can’t change, its a matter of being responsible and disciplined, there won’t be
any disadvantage to consider when purchasing a smart phone.
9
