Managing Effective Meetings

  ‘Super Simple Success Tips – Managing Effective Meetings’
1. Plan Ahead – Understand the value of meetings and use what’s
   happened in the past to learn from to ensure that the best value
   comes every time your people get together.
2. Build Good Relationships – Spend your time effectively, by investing
   in building strong, supportive, interested relationships with all of
   your people, all the time.
3. Involve Only Those Necessary – Those attending must add value, so
   be sure that those who are there will do that and leave out those
   who are not required to be there.
4. Manage Good behaviors – Create a working environment such that
   everyone works together, to deliver productive meeting outcomes
   that value each other’s contributions.
5. Effective ACTions – Ensure that after meeting tasks are clearly
   defined by ‘what’, ‘when’ and who is accountable and
   communicated to in an agreed timeframe.
6. Delegate Meeting Tasks – Try to avoid meeting overload, by
   delegating relevant roles to others for their development as well as
   to provide space for you.
7. Acknowledge Off-Topic Issues – Park out of scope issues and ensure
   they are followed through with next steps, to show their importance
   to someone is clearly appreciated.
8. Involve Everyone – Most people will have some value to offer, so
   ensure that, however different their behaviors, full value is drawn
   from them and full acknowledgement of their contribution shown.

9. Manage Process – Ensure that agendas are provided, timetables are
   kept, behaviors are managed and progress is always achieved to get
   the most from every meeting.
10. Review and Feedback – Build time in to ensure confidence builds

   individual to develop and grow.
