What is Festival?<br />A festival is an event, usually and ordinarily staged by a local community, which centres on and celebrates some unique aspect of that community and the Festival.<br />It is usually a day or period set aside for celebration.<br />There are many different types of festival like:<br /><ul><li>Music festivals

  4. 4. Film festivals
  5. 5. Cultural festivals
  6. 6. Seasonal festivals
  7. 7. Beer festivals

Drama festivals</li></li></ul><li>Music festival <br />A music festival is a festival oriented towards music that is sometimes presented with a theme such as musical genre, nationality or locality of musicians, or holiday. They are commonly held outdoors, and are often inclusive of other attractions such as food and merchandise vending machines, performance art, and social activities. <br />
  12. 12. V festival<br />The V festival is one example of a music festival.<br />The V Festival is an annual music festivalheld in England during the penultimate weekend in August. The event is held at two parks simultaneously which share the same bill; artists perform at one location on Saturday and then swap on Sunday<br />
  13. 13. Mud festival<br />The Boryeong Mud Festival is an annual festival which takes place during the summer in Boryeong, a town around 200 km south of Seoul, South Korea. The first Mud Festival was staged in 1998 and, by 2007, the festival attracted 2.2 million visitors to Boryeong.<br />The mud is taken from the Boryeong mud flats, and trucked to the Daecheon beach area, where it is used as the centrepiece of the 'Mud Experience Land'. The mud is considered rich in minerals and used to manufacture cosmetics. The festival was originally conceived as a marketing vehicle for Boryeong mud cosmetics<br />
  14. 14. Art festival<br />Edinburgh Art Festival is Scotland’s largest annual festival of visual art and has something for everyone. Established in 2004, the Festival works in partnership with the city’s artists, galleries, museums and visual art spaces to present the best, exciting and most intriguing in visual arts practice.<br />
  15. 15. Beer festival<br />A Beer Festival is an organised event during which a variety of beers (and often other alcoholic drinks) are available for tasting and purchase. Beer festivals are held in a number of countries.<br />
