Literature  Circle  Roles: Concise  Connector     Your  job…is  to  find  3  connections  in  the  section  of  the  book  your   group  is  reading.    While  you  are  reading  look  for  these  kinds  of   connections:     Textà Self  (TàS)—this  is  where  you  find  a  similarity  between  the  book  and  your  life   Textà Text  (TàT)—find  a  similarity  between  the  book  and  another  book  you’ve  read   Textà Movie  (TàM)—find  a  similarity  between  the  book  and  a  movie  you’ve  seen   Textà World  (TàW)—find  a  similarity  between  the  book  and  anything  in  the  world    Don’t  Forget:   1) As  you  read  put  sticky  notes  in  the  pages  where  you  find  connections.    Put  1-­‐2  word  reminders   on  them  to  help  you  remember  your  connections.   2) Start  your  connection  by  telling  what  kind  of  connection  you  found.  (T-­‐S,  T-­‐T,  etc.)   3) Give  plenty  of  details  from  your  connection  in  the  book.    Pretend  like  you  are  talking  to  someone   who  has  not  read  the  story.       4) Describe  what  you  connect  to  using  plenty  of  details.    Example:  TàS In Just Wacky, there is a kid with a Band-Aid on his face. He got hurt by trying to look cool wearingsomeone else’s glasses. He fell into a hole and cut his cheek. Now it is picture day and he can’t get the Band-Aid off. Once I crashed on my bike and scraped up my chin really bad.
