Juxtaposition of Music and Technology <ul><ul><li>Using the &quot;Finale 2010&quot; program </li></ul></ul><ul><li>  </li></ul><ul><li>  </li></ul><ul><ul><li>  Using eamir.org to explore interface programs that connect with 21st century skills and interests of students! </li></ul></ul><ul><li>  </li></ul><ul><li>  </li></ul><ul><ul><li>Establishing knowledge of &quot;Garage band&quot; program </li></ul></ul><ul><li>  </li></ul><ul><li>  </li></ul><ul><ul><li>Exploring recording devices </li></ul></ul><ul><li>  </li></ul>

Music Technology continued... <ul><ul><li>By mixing music and technology, students will get to explore many different angles of music education </li></ul></ul><ul><li>  </li></ul><ul><ul><li>  This intern will help students connect with other technological skills and life skills that they will face in other subject areas </li></ul></ul><ul><li>  </li></ul><ul><ul><li>They will be able to transfer their technology skills smoothly and keep up with the forever growing technology in the world </li></ul></ul><ul><li>  </li></ul><ul><ul><li>And, they will be learning in a fun and creative way to use technology! </li></ul></ul>

Music Tech Program uses <ul><li>Finale 2010 </li></ul><ul><li>  </li></ul><ul><li>  </li></ul><ul><ul><li>  Composition </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Arranging </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Media presentations </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Notating music </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Editing musical scores, etc </li></ul></ul><ul><li>EAMIR.org </li></ul><ul><ul><li>Using games like&quot;Guitar Hero,&quot; &quot;DDR,&quot; and other games that connect to a MAC comp. to create unique musical creations </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>  Create different interfaces for chords, harmonies and different tonal musical expressions with out physical or technical limitations </li></ul></ul>

More Music Tech Programs... <ul><li>Garage Band </li></ul><ul><li>  </li></ul><ul><ul><li>MAC or PC accessable program that enables students to learn, play, create, jam, or record  music </li></ul></ul><ul><li>Recording Devices ex.  &quot;EdiRol&quot; </li></ul><ul><ul><li>Students will be knowledgeable with recording devices to record themselves playing their instrument and record groups or ensembles </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>They will be able to generate mp3, CD, and other audio sounds for other students </li></ul></ul>

Activities!!!! <ul><ul><li>With music theory and basic composition skills I will teach the students, they will generate their own compositions </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>After they have created a simple composition for a few instruments/students they will arrange the music on &quot;Finale&quot; for specific instruments (like flute, trumpet etc) </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>They will produce copies of their arrangement for a group of students and play for the class </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Other groups will be in charge of recording these small musical concerts and producing a CD from it  </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Other students can add virual acoustics or electronic beats to the compostion, etc by exploring &quot;Garage Band&quot; or even &quot;EAMIR&quot; </li></ul></ul><ul><li>  </li></ul>

In Conclusion <ul><ul><li>Many new devices and skills are driven and function through technology.  </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>These different programs will support the creative music making process and enable students to find more connections to today's &quot;technological world&quot; </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>All of these programs are assessable to students, parents, faculty, and more so please feel free to explore them and ask me any questions! </li></ul></ul><ul><li>  </li></ul><ul><li>Thanks!! </li></ul>
