Twitter attributes • Fast and topic-based social network • Established in 2006, more than 2,000 employees • More than 284M monthly active users • Micro blogging: up to 140 characters • "The internet’s pulse” • By default - anyone can follow anyone • No friends • Short expiry date • Strong emphasis on topics • No differences between brand or human profile • No groups Adding image, poll or animated GIF will “cost” you 24 characters
  5. 5. 5 Opening account Notice: Your username is unique and cannot be replace. Think good before choosing one.
  6. 6. 6 Welcome Notice: In this example Peter Parker is the “full name”, it can be replaced. The user name “PeterParker457” is unique and cannot be changed.

  10. 10. 10 Tweet’s structure Now, let’s see how a single tweet is structured... You can see image, some ‘regular’ text, and some text that look different… Notice the “@” Notice the “#”
  11. 11. 11 Hashtag # • Finding specific content and users • Great way to manage and monitor live events • Can be use for bolding a word Notice: Hashtag = “#”
  12. 12. 12 Mention @ • Link to brand or person profile • A way to start an engagement with one or more profiles • Any account that is mentioned in your tweet will get a notification from you Notice: Mention= “@”
  13. 13. 13 Image tagging Awesome way to save characters as you tag up to 10 users on the same image! Now, this is a powerful tip!
  14. 14. 14 RT • Forwarding content that is not your to your followers • Great way to open discussion with one or more profile

  16. 16. 16 Sharing tweet You can embed tweet to your own site.
  17. 17. 17 Polls Notice: Polls are great ways to engage users on Twitter. How to create one? Look for the pie icon in creating tweet dialog
  18. 18. 18 DM Notice: DM = Direct Messages. Just like mail, just inside Twitter.
  19. 19. 19 Evaluate profile How many followers comparing to how many followings. To evaluate profile power: Look for following / followers ratio. In this example, Time official profile follows 777 users, but 7.2 millions users follow Time. Power Tip: look for those 777 and try to figure out why Time chose to follow these accounts
  20. 20. 20 Lists Notice: Lists are powerful option to organize your tweets stream. We can say that lists are content filters made by you.

  32. 32. 32 Emoji Notice: Enrich your content by using Emoji. Here is a free site to use: http://www.piliapp.com/twitter- symbols. Remember, you are always fighting for attention - so do anything you can to gain more.
  33. 33. 33 Pinned Tweet Pinned tweet will always appear at the top of your profile page. Good example for using this option is for calling people to register to your mailing list
