San Diego Early/Middle College <br />SDEMC is a San Diego Unified high school on the campus of San Diego City College<br />It is an early college program that prepares students in the 9th and 10th grades to take a combination of high school and college courses in the 11th and 12th grades<br />Students earn both high school and college credit for some college courses<br />

SDEMC students are academic achievers<br />This year, San Diego Early/Middle College scored 804 on California’s Academic Performance Index (API).<br />The API uses the CA State Standards Tests and the CA High School Exit Exam as measures.<br />Only five other district high schools (out of 35) in San Diego Unified scored above 800.<br />
  5. 5. High school and college courses<br />Students take high school classes in the ninth and tenth grades <br />In the 11th and 12th grades, students take two college courses and four high school courses<br />
  6. 6. College Units<br />In addition to a high school diploma, SDEMC students can earn up to one year of college credit, at no additional cost to the student<br />San Diego City College does not require SDEMC to pay college fees<br />The school district pays for college textbooks<br />
