  2. 2. Michigan State Athletics• The Michigan State University athletic program includes 25 varsity sports teams. The university participates in the NCAAs Division I-A and in the Big Ten Conference in all Varsity sports except ice hockey, which competes in the Central Collegiate Hockey Association. Michigan State offers 12 varsity sports for men and 13 for women.
  3. 3. Michigan State Athletics• MSU athletics does not simply involve selling tickets to sporting events and winning games, it also involves selling retail items such as sweatshirts and jerseys.
  4. 4. Michigan State Athletics• Michigan State Athletics brings in 69 million dollars a year• Michigan State football alone brought in 44,854,692.00 dollars in 2010
  5. 5. Social Media• Michigan State use twitter and Facebook pages to promote ticket sales and apparel.• Social media also allows Michigan State to broadcast their players success and statistics.• A lot of Michigan State’s athletes have twitter which allows them to keep in touch with our fan base.
  6. 6. Social Media• MSU athletics has a Facebook fan page.• Depending on how many fans and likes your page gets let’s us know how the department is growing or how it’s falling and what needs to be done.
  7. 7. Social Media• As I keep up with Social media Google + is the next network that MSU athletics will be featured on.• This will also make more things come up about MSU athletics when searched in Google.
  8. 8. Budget Timeline• In November by time the last home football game approach Michigan State should be coming in at about 45 million dollars in order to not take a loss from last year.• Heading into the New Year should be tallying in at about 60 million dollars.
  9. 9. Evaluation• The success will be measured by the number of boosters MSU has and the size of the student sections.• The success will also be measured by how the money is adding up around the deadlines.
  10. 10. Evaluation• The final Evaluation method will be at the end of the year when Michigan State Athletics revenue is all tallied up and it should have increased by at least 2 million from the previous year if we were successful.
