  1. 1. A FOR AND AGANST ESSAY A for and against essay is usually about a topic which is quite controversial. When writing a for and against essay, the writer presents both sides of an issue and concludes by supporting one of the sides.
  2. 2. Useful Language What is more “lo que es más” Howeve r “sin embargo” In contrast “por el contrario” For example,... “por ejemplo”…. In conclusión, . “en conclusión”…. To sum up, ... “para resumir” …. I believe that.. “creo que” …. In my opinión, “en mi opinión” The question is ... “El asunto es”…. In general / generally “ generalmente” In fact “de hecho” On the one hand,... “Por una parte”… On the other hand, ... “Por otra” … In addition , ... “además” .. Moreover / Furthermore “además”

The question is whether they should do this immediately after they finish school. </li></ul><ul><li>On the one hand , there are several advantages for young people who leave their parents' home. First of all , they no longer have to live according to their parents' rules. In addition , they start to learn how to be independent and responsible and to make decisions for themselves. </li></ul><ul><li>On the other hand , this sudden change may leave some young people feeling lost and confused. They sometimes find it difficult financially. They suddenly have to pay electricity and telephone bills, things they never had to pay when they lived at home. </li></ul><ul><li>In conclusion , I believe that 18 is a very young age to leave home. In my opinion , it is better for young people to find a Job and make some money before leaving their family and setting up their own home. </li></ul>
