4. Tamadam, DFI and Brahim’s LSG
• In 2009, Tamadam Bonded Warehouse Berhad signed 10
years franchisee license with Café Barbera (SEA), Italy food
and beverage for Malaysia, Singapore and Indonesia.
• Dewina Food Industries (DFI), a pioneer in the manufacturing
of premium quality convenience food in retort pouches, is
looking at plans to further tap the European halal market and
the Netherlands is likely to be its gateway into Europe.
• In 2012, Brahim’s completed acquisition with LSG Sky Chefs
(LSG) and it should made Brahim’s and its partner Malaysia
Airlines would have fully Malaysianised the operating of the
world’s largest halal flight kitchen.
5. LSG was also able to increase its airline
catering related sales in all regions and
extend agreements with strategic
customers. These include worldwide
contracts with American Airlines,
United Airlines, US Airways and Alaska
Airlines. Contracts were also renewed
with Thomson Airways in Great Britain
and Ireland and with Alitalia in Italy.
Furthermore, entry into Europe’s
halal market has been made easier
with the Port of Rotterdam, which
was officially designated halal at
the World Islamic Economic Forum,
and is the first globally certified
port.
