  2. 2. The likelihood of your computer running slower than it used to is because of a few factors. Firstly, as computers get older and used more often, the registry of the PC builds up useless entries that slow your PC’s processes down. Also there may be a slot of data and software on your computer that you no longer need but is filling up hard drive space. In addition if the computer is often used for web browsing, no doubt you have unwittingly downloaded some adware or spyware which is notoriously known to slow a computers performance.   3. 3. - Clear your browsing data – In the option menu of most browsers such as Firefox and Internet Explorer, there is an option to clear certain files that you download and use when browsing the World Wide Web. These include such files as temporary Internet files, cookies, cache and other data. By clearing or deleting these files you may find web browsing is sped up, especially if this process has not been performed for a while; - Windows users can go to Start > Programs > Accessories > System Tools and run the ‘Disk Cleanup’ tool. This will clear unused data from your hard drive and potentially help the speed of loading files; - Run a virus check – Make sure to constantly keep your virus software up to date and regularly scan your hard drives and files. Viruses can slow your PC down and by keeping to the highest level of security for your computer will lessen this risk; - Uninstall old programs and software – if there are old programs and software on your computer that you no longer use or need, uninstall them by going to Start > Control Panel > Uninstall A Program. This will make finding files on your PC quicker;
