8. Check your research sources and ask: Is the information authentic? Who is the author? Are there names and contact details? If you have to use Wikipedia, these are at the bottom of each page, often with live links to the original Does the author / s have academic credentials, or is associated with an organisation? Who owns and contributes to the website? Check the URL- think of the bias Greenpeace or the CIA may have! Is there a bibliography / list of sources to back up this work? Are the views, information and opinions balanced or just one person’s biased viewpoint? Is the information old and possibly out of date? – abandoned websites stay around a long time!
