Its packaging was designed in such a way so that
the breakage of the chips are minimized as they are
stacked on top of each other. The fact that its
packaging is stiff, no air (nitrogen) is needed to
prevent the chips from breaking and oxidised.

out.

have your hand in order to reach for them.
3. When there are few chips left, some people would
need to put in their arms in OR pour them out.
Downside (-ve):
• Mess could be created – dirtying whole arm
• Pouring out chips is not environmentally friendly –
broken chips, creating such mess

• Further prevents breakage of chips
Cons:
• High productivity (the aluminum lid needs to be placed at
every paper strip in order for the lid to cover the
packaging).
• Disturbs the look of the packaging
• Could be costly

Recyclable Food Packaging: Flower Pot
Have a plastic push-up “spring” at the base of the cylinder.
Pros:
• Less mess created
• No trouble face to reach for the chips
• Recyclable
Cons:
• High productivity
• Could be costly
• In order to ensure the spacing is wide enough to allow
everyone’s arms to fit in, the packaging needs to be big.
• Since the chips are thin, it might slide into the gaps at the
sides.

The lid could be made the shape of a
Christmas hat. This appeals to Children
because of its design.

Adding a handle to the packaging
Pros:
• Convenient for consumers to carry the food around
Cons:
• Handle might detach from the packaging that would
cause the product to fall, breaking the chips apart.

• Combine : chips can with cylinder contraption
• Adapt : cylinder contraption to make chips easier to come out
• Magnify : no changes made
• Put to other uses : if we put the cylinder contraption upside down, it can be used as a
cup
• Eliminate : excess chips container after the chips inside decreases
• Rearrange : the can’s base are able to decrease in shape

Putting in Empathy into the product.
o In what way would it attract consumers?
 Most people have pringles as one of their favourite snack and as for its actual product, we
would normally pour the chips out > with the design implemented, it would make
consuming of the food easier without creating a single mess
 The design implemented makes the product reusable – Flower pot. However, this would
attract only to those who would find it beneficial to their home decorations.
o Cost?
 It would be slightly more expensive due to its production of the food packaging.
