  3. 3. Use contrasting colors <ul><li>It’s easiest for everyone to read the slide if the background color and text color are contrasting. For example, the background color might be dark blue and the text could be white. </li></ul><ul><li>Is this easy to read? (NO!) </li></ul>
  4. 4. Use a big enough font <ul><li>For text one should use size 28 or 32 font, and for titles the size font should be 36 or 44. Anything smaller would be too hard to read, especially for people in the back of the room. </li></ul><ul><li>Can you read this? </li></ul>ABC 123
  5. 5. Stop Moving Text <ul><li>The moving text can be too distracting, you want your audience to read it and focus back on the presenter. If the text is moving slowly onto the screen there will be a long pause waiting for the text to arrive. If you want moving text, just use the “Appear”. </li></ul><ul><li>Otherwise it will take forever for the words to show up on the screen. </li></ul>
  6. 6. Turn Pointer Off <ul><li>Having the pointer appear on screen during a presentation is distracting to the audience. When you start the slideshow, hit Ctrl-H and the pointer will disappear. If you need the pointer to appear, press A, and then A again to make it disappear. </li></ul>
  7. 7. Jump Slides <ul><li>To be able to jump slides, you need to know the number of each slide. Then to jump to slide all you have to do is enter the slide number on the keyboard and press Enter. </li></ul>
  8. 8. Blank the Screen <ul><li>Sometimes, to make the audience focus on the presenter for a minute, you have to blank the screen. To do so, just hit B on the keyboard and the screen will go black and hit B to restore it back to the screen. If you want a white screen, just hit W on the keyboard, and W to restore it back as well. </li></ul>
