David Lida <br />In the book First Stop in the New World by David Lida explains in brief detail how the people from Mexico City struggle the everyday issues that they have to face day to day. <br />The author explains how Mexico City is full of many disgusting things but Mexico is the second most dynamic economy in Latin America. <br />

In the introduction The Hypermetropolis, in the book First Stop in the New World, it explains how a tourist whom comes to this amazing city gets enchanted from the first place. <br />Although he did not wanted to return to this city because of what people said about it, that it was overpopulated, polluted bedlam, full of horrific testimonies of insuperable poverty.<br />Also the Mexican cuisine is unique its full of colors, textures, temperatures, and flavors that make the culinary jewel of the continent. <br />Hypermetropolis<br />

It explains how theirs few middle-class people in Mexico but the majority suffer from poverty ever day. <br />Lida also explains that before it was called Mexico City, Tenochtitlan was a marker town, the Constantinople of North America. <br />Religion is very important to Mexicans in Mexico City because most of the people come from a Catholic Religion.<br />All the residents identify themselves as Catholic. <br />Where the Money Is and Isn’t <br />

Castaneda describes the circumstances that Mexicans face day to day in order to survive in a multiracial country as the United States.<br />With good experiences such as examples of real people stories Castaneda describes the lives of many Mexicans in this country.<br />

Castaneda describes the experiences of the Mexican immigration to the United States in ways of risking their life’s when crossing the border, the laws that have been passed during the years and the reasons why Mexicans leave their country. <br />MIGRANTS TO IMMIGRANTS<br />

When trying to cross the border immigrants were dying of dehydration, sunstroke, snakebite, and exposure. <br />Another thing that Mexicans are facing when trying to cross the border is that “Polleros”, has increased its price. <br />There has been more security and more walls have been made in order to stop the Mexicans for not crossing the border. <br />THE BORDER <br />

They suffer extremely pain, exhaustion, fear and humiliation because they think everything they do is worth it at the end. <br />They first start with a lower paying job or many other have more than two jobs in order to have a better life.<br />Castaneda also says that Mexicans come to the United States in order to work hard to achieve all their goals. <br />REASONS THEY LEAVE THEIR COUNTRY<br />
