  2. 2. The nervous system is responsible forcoordinating all the activity of the body.
  3. 3. The central nervous consists of thebrain and spinal cord.
  4. 4. Central Nervous System
  5. 5. The portion of the nervous system thatcontains the cranial nerves and spinalnerves. These nerves are mainlyresponsible for voluntary musclemovement, smell, taste, sight, andhearing.
  6. 6. Peripheral Nervous System
  7. 7. Nervous tissue conducts electricalimpulses to and from the brain andthe rest of the body.
  8. 8. The brain is one of the largest organs in thebody and coordinates most bodyactivities.it is the center for all thought ,memory ,judgment, and emotion. Each partof the brain is responsible for controllingdifferent body functions, such astemperature regulation and breathing. Thefour sections to the brain are the cerebrum,cerebellum, diencephalon, and brainstem.The spinal cord provides a pathway forimpulses traveling to and from the brain. Itis a column of nerve fibers that extendsfrom the medulla oblongata of the braindown to the level of the second lumbarvertebra.
