MMICC '08 Ambassadors Team First Meeting

  1. 1. Ambassadors Team, welcome to the McGill Management Int’l Case Competition!
  2. 2. Hi! (introductions)
  3. 3. MM what? ICC <ul><li>an undergraduate business case competition </li></ul><ul><li>the only international case competition in the province </li></ul><ul><li>1 of 2 case comps in Canada </li></ul><ul><li>ranked among top 3 case competitions worldwide, alongside Copenhagen and Hong Kong </li></ul><ul><li>completely student-run and independent (we are not MUS or SSMU) </li></ul><ul><li>you are part of the 8th edition </li></ul><ul><li>our funds come from corporate sponsors (60%), foreign schools (30%) and the Faculty (10%) </li></ul>

ICC <ul><li>3 days of social activities + 2 days of competition </li></ul><ul><li>12 teams </li></ul><ul><li>1 team = 4 students </li></ul><ul><li>1 delegation = 4 students + 1 advisor + YOU! </li></ul><ul><li>each team has 24 hours to solve and present a case </li></ul><ul><ul><li>22 hours in a hotel room </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>2 hours in Bronfman </li></ul></ul><ul><li>the case requires skills in most fields of management: accounting, finance, strategic management, international business, policy, marketing, and how to present (duh!) </li></ul><ul><li>presentations are open to the public and held in 422/423 </li></ul><ul><li>a panel of 12+ judges from the professional world is invited to evaluate the presentations </li></ul><ul><li>3 winners are selected, from 1 st to 3 rd place </li></ul>
