  2. 2. The term "positronic" was coined by author Isaac Asimov and later used by other science fiction writers including Gene Roddenberry in several Star Trek episodes. Barbarella The science fiction film Barbarella also used the word positronic. “In the 41st century, the president of Earth asks "five-star double rated astronautical aviatrix" Barbarella (Fonda) to find missing scientist Duran Duran.
