  2. 2. Festa major <ul><li>The “Festa major” of Badalona is celebrated every year. There are a lot of activities, during which, the children and parents alike have a great time. </li></ul>
  3. 3. Castellers <ul><li>This is a Catalan tradition. The people make “human towers”. The children and the parents form towers. </li></ul>
  4. 4. Tots Sants <ul><li>On 31th Octuber, we celebrate “La Castanyada”. People eat chestnuts, sweet potatoes and bake “panallets”. </li></ul>
  5. 5. Berbena de Sant Joan <ul><li>For “Sant Joan”, we eat “coca” and set off firecrackers . </li></ul>
  6. 6. Diada de Catalunya <ul><li>On 11th September in Catalunya, we celebrate the </li></ul><ul><li>“ Diada of Catalunya”. It commemorates the 1714 siege of Barcelona during the War of the Spanish Succession. </li></ul>
  7. 7. Cremada del dimoni <ul><li>The “cremada del dimoni” is celebrated together with the “Festa Major”. Firecrackers explode while the demon is set alight. </li></ul>
