Rehearsals theater i

  1. 1. Theater I: Rehearsing How to get stuff done, how to earn participation points, and how to make friends and influence people.
  2. 2. Time to Rehearse? <ul><li>When you are done constructing props/costume pieces, it’s time to rehearse! </li></ul><ul><li>Each member of your group will need a copy of the script. Ms. Y was kind of a jerk and didn’t copy some of them, so she’ll be sending folks to the library to get this done. </li></ul><ul><li>Ask the librarians for assistance with the copier to make copies for each member of your group. </li></ul>
  3. 3. Rehearsal Procedures Step 1: Find a space to rehearse. Any space except behind the curtains, the “office” or the “living room” is okay.
  4. 4. Rehearsal Procedures Step 2: ON YOUR SCRIPT: Write down IN PENCIL when/how you move. Where do you go? What do you do? BLOCKING: Where & how an actor moves on the stage and when they move there (on what line)
  5. 5. Rehearsal Procedures Step 3: Make decisions as a group. Go through the script at least 5 times per rehearsal, if possible. No arguments over stupid stuff, please. 
  6. 6. Participation Points <ul><li>You will lose participation points if: </li></ul><ul><li>- You are with a group other than your own. </li></ul><ul><li>- You are working on things other than theater arts work. </li></ul><ul><li>- You are sitting around doing nothing. </li></ul><ul><li>- You constantly argue and ask me to solve your problems. </li></ul>
