LOLLIPOPS• This candy on a stick, was developed by the Catalan entrepeneur Enric Bernat Fontlladosa.• Between 1956 and 1957 he had the idea of making a piece of candy that you could grab with a stick (then made of wood).• The inspiration came from two facts: – Most candy consumers were children. – they tend to touch the sweet with their hands, leaving everything sticky.
THE MOP• Manuel Jalon Corominas was the creator.• In 1956 he used a broom handle to attach a strip of cotton cloth to it.
TABLE FOOTBALL• Also known as football.• It was created by Alejandro Finisterre, a Galician who immigrated to Mexico.• He engaged stick pins as football players. The success was immediate.• We should remember that in Spanish football the players are made of metal and have two legs.
SUBMARINE• It was invented by the scientist Isaac Peral, a Spanish military.• it really is an innovation introduced in 1885. The hull was made of steel, it could dive down 30 metres.• It was launched on September 8th, 1888, and had a range of 66 hours and 284 nautical miles.
THE SHARPENER• It was created in 1945 by Ignacio Urresti. The first model had a weight of just under a kilo and a half and looked like a mixture of a coffee grinder and a camera.
