Pitch - Stand-by Advert

 1. 1. Recycling
My story is about a teenage male actor who is in the classroom working hard behind the computer. The bell goes off and all the students leave the classroom but not the male actor. He is still busy until it gets late and dark which means it’s almost night time. And so as a result he becomes on Stand-by mode during night time which this are the durations when people don’t use their appliance and put it on stand-by. The character starts working and motivating when its morning and all the students come back in. They start doing some work but the male actor starts to break down slowly because it has become tired and got less energy to be energetic to work hard like his classmates. This shows that when the appliances are being on stand- by for a long time it will not only affect the environment but also the machine itself.
2. 2. The Aim of this advert is to yet again raise awareness of the way in which young people can change the way they live and their lifestyle. This has an positive effect on global warming which is to use less energy. This company strategies is being used in my advert
My Message to the audience is that if the levels of wastage continue, an extra 43m tonnes of carbon dioxide will be pumped into the atmosphere just by leaving mobile phone chargers plugged in or leaving appliances on standby and lights on. And so hereby I am showing through the advert that if you don't switch off your appliances it will break down.
3. 3. Secondary research
Britons waste the equivalent of around two power stations' worth of electricity each year by leaving TV sets and other gadgets on standby.
The average household has up to 12 gadgets on standby or charging states the BBC News science and nature reporter
Last June Environment Minister Elliot Morley, responding to an MP's question, revealed that leaving electrical equipment in sleep mode used roughly 7TWh of energy and emitted around 800,000 tonnes of carbon.
Mr Baker's parliamentary question to the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra) has calculated that the CO2 emissions from electrical equipment being left on standby are equivalent to 1.4 million long-haul flights.
4. 4. Location
The location of this narrative will be based in a classroom. The classroom will include a table where it has 3 Apple Computers on top of it.
Overall, An establishing shot of the classroom the classroom it has lots of tables and chairs but they wont be used.
5. 5. Target Audience
This advert that I am making does apply to my primary target audience which are between 16 to 19 years old teenagers because mainly teenagers watch TV, use computer, the Xbox to play games and puts it on stand by and leaves it.
I am also using teenage characteristic features such as their clothing, location, use of technology e.g. The Apple Mac computers.
More important point to consider is that My advert will also include R&B soundtrack. Which definitely relates to teenage viewers.
6. 6. Campaign Strategies
I will be using a variety of campaign strategies which will including guilt, insecurity and fear. The use of these emotional feelings are to show to the teenagers that this is serious massage to the audience. Guilt is also an predominant emotion in modern lives. These emotions are yet also an effective way to attract audiences attention.
The use of technology that I am going to use is filming and editing. Whereby, you have to use a camera to record, tripod to make it stand with no movements. When filming has been completed I will be using the Mac Computers to upload my videos and a USB that is specially for camera to transfer the movies into Imovie. I will be also using Photoshop to create a title with the slogan included.
