So if you are planning to launch a portal. Drop the plan. Launch an App.
  2. 2. App sessions are Rising What does this mean to you.It means people are browsing in an Application more than they browse the web. In more than 10 countries the App sessions have increased at phenomenal rate of more than 300%/year. According to one App analytics firm, china is leading at growth atmore than 1000% growth. India still playing at catch up game at close to 400%. Most of the world is at 200%. If you are serious about mobility The next step – Evolve Make an App for web/mobile.
  3. 3. Search is Dead Mobile search will be dead soon. In a popular forum Steve jobs commented,“people are not searching on I phone, they go to App directly” This is becoming relevant for all the Smartphones. If you want to search Music, will you go to a Music App or Google? People are following the natural instincts onMobile. As the App Penetration increases people will target Apps which is relevant to the theminstead of searching the web or more specifically mobile web.
  4. 4. Follow Mobile User Trends elsewhereUser Behaviour on mobile willovershadow web as Smartphone willemerge as a primary device.Consumers expect the primarybehaviour patterns in all the secondarydevices. Initially they expected mobile towork as web on PC but now they willneed the convenience of Smartphone orother devices like tablets andcomputers.Mobile user trends will become theprimary trends to be followed acrossdevices.
  5. 5. Web browsers will follow the Mobile browsing behaviourBrowsers alone will be dead.Chrome from Google is taking thelead. It is replicating the relevantApps versions on web.Relevant icons on browsers open up thebrowsing sessions directly . The futureicons will go independent of thebrowsers. They will as good asdocuments icons on your desktop. Openthe relevant icon to follow yourpassion/stories.
  6. 6. Similar experience across devicesDevices will converge, the user will lookfor similar behaviour across devicesincluding TV.It’s like watching half of the movie on TVand rest on Tablet. The back end systemsshould be intelligence enough to noticethe change and manage complexity.Convergence =Screens +experienceApps have the potential to Deliverthe similar experience acrossScreens.
  7. 7. Downloading soon will be a thing in pastThe future – no one will downloadanything.People are moving from a downloadled behaviour to a browsing one.Music, movies , images, Games, etc. Allservices will be on cloud for you tostream and experience. It will be plug and playIf it is not simpler than this, peoplewill not adopt the service.
  8. 8. Libraries will be your biggest servicesTwo of the biggest services will bemusic on demand & Movies ondemand. Third could be Books ondemand or Games on Demand.Other such services which relyheavily on long tail or libraries willbecome biggest. If you are one such provider, buildthe long tail.
  9. 9. Data Will explodeThe growth year on year is morethan 100% in Developing nationsand elsewhere too..Data charges will be extremelycheap and affordable, the pipewill explode.Data/3G pricing are very high, thecaps on Data will go down in thecoming years and will be astandard rate.
