About Me
Hi, I’m Jack Brutschin.
Mind Map Jack
At this moment I am almost 48 years young and live in the Western part of Amsterdam in the
Netherlands. [map id="1"] In certain ways I am a ‘cloudcyclist’, a Dutch expression for a person
who lives on a cloud and loves to dream. With this site I wanted to create a challenge for myself.
I wanted to combine two of my specialities: Internet Marketing and mind mapping. Why?
Because the “American Dream” can be achieved with internet marketing. At the same time, as
a Buzan licensed mind map trainer I want to share my passion and the advantages of drawing a
mind map with you. This website is the result of that wish of mine.
My Background
I became an entrepreneur right after my education (bachelor’s degree in business). I started a
company specialized in team building workshops with kites.

2. I started out with powerful kites, dragging you over the beach and taught the customers how to
handle kites like these. One day I saw one picture of a new sport over at Hawaii: kitesurfing.
I felt immediately what this sport was all about; this is it!. I visited the originator of this industry
“Bruno Legoinoix”. And before I knew it, I was all of a sudden the importer of this gear for the
Netherlands.
For 3 years people were laughing at me and the team who promoted this sport for me. But look
at this sport now!.
But I made a few mistakes. My biggest mistake was that I was doing it with passion and not with

3. a big business mentality. I didn’t realize that I was swimming in a pool full with sharks. The
moment the sport took off over here, I nearly went bankrupt. I lost every dime I made within a
time period of 4 months. It is hard to believe that success can become a big problem as well.
At this time we hadn’t spend a single dime on promotion on the internet. But we managed
about 200.000 visitors per month with our site. This was all due to the power of internet
marketing. At that time I was helped by a person, who enjoyed helping me with this.
That was back in 2001. Eversince the science of internet marketing has had a magnetic effect
on me. More and more I got involved in to this knowledge. I loved it!.
At the same time I had two other major problems. I tend to be very creative at times. At those
moments many big ideas go through my head. Inside my head ideas tend to flash through my
head back and forth. It goes so quickly, I tend to lose many of these great insights. I tried to
write everything down; no luck. I tried to record it on tape; again no luck. I tried and tried. But no
luck.
Than I tried to draw my minds with a line structure in it and that seemed to work for me the best.
At the time I first had to discover the technique of mind mapping. It seemed that my way of
thinking was very closely related to a theory which would go many steps further.
I adapted and decided to become a licensed Buzan trainer. In 2002 I became an BLI and
eversince I have been teaching people how to mind map as well.
At the same time I developed something new with kites. Team building events in which I build
giant kites with the people/group attending my workshops.
Now 10 years later, I am at a new crossing point. I want to focus on internet marketing, but in
order to have the biggest chance in order to reach the ‘American Dream’, one should produce
your own product.
And this is where I saw the opportunity to start this blog.
SEO and Mind Mapping Excites Me
The last 14 years I had the chance to do what I love. And I do love to try many different things.
But I noticed that my real passion is in SEO and Internet Marketing in general. I love the idea
that when you deliver value on the internet, the money will follow. So I started ranking websites
and more and more it turns out that I am damn good at it. Due to the fact that the rules of SEO
change all the time, I have a reason to stay hooked as I need to test and experiment as much
as possible.
At the same time I cannot stop producing mind maps. I need to remember quite a lot and the
mind maps do help me to achieve this.

4. And again, what you love, will turn into something you’re good at.
Why Setup This Blog?
As you see, my purpose for this blog is for two reasons.
First of all, I want to show you what you can do with mind map software, which is the best and
what you can achieve with the theory of mind mapping.
In the world of internet marketing there are lots of myths and even more misinformation being
spread.
I have been struggling with internet marketing for a few years now as I listened too much to
people who really don’t know what they are doing. I spent loads of money on services and
products these ‘Guru’s’ offer.
It turned out to be a waste of time and money. I didn’t make a dime. I started to concentrate on
what I thought would be wise; identifying new markets, designing website and rank they high in
Google. It was a steep learning curve, but I learned so much more than the usual stuff.
Just a few days ago, I realized that I am losing a lot of time spending with customers, who try to
understand what I do for a living and where actually holding me back in order to achieve
whatever I want to achieve for them I was selling myself short. I was not leveraging my most
valuable asset, couldn’t use my personal knowledge to the fullest and my experience was
always put to the test.

5. That was the moment I decided to setup this blog in order to share my own learnings and to
provide you with my best advice and produce tutorials to those who need it.
