Computer and Internet Access <ul><li>All responses were anonymous to ensure high level of accuracy. </li></ul><ul><li>215 year 11s responded. </li></ul><ul><li>99% now have Internet access at home. </li></ul><ul><li>96% have broadband access at home. </li></ul><ul><li>50% have their own computer/laptop. </li></ul><ul><li>40% of shared access users have unlimited access. </li></ul>

Navigating & Using the Gateway <ul><li>98% of students said they would use the Gateway as part of their revision programme. </li></ul><ul><li>62% said this usage would be regular or frequent. </li></ul><ul><li>95% of students described their ability to navigate the Gateway as average or above. </li></ul><ul><li>73% said navigation was good or excellent. </li></ul>
  4. 4. Gateway and the Public Drive <ul><li>Only 46% of year 11 students say they have ever used the public drive to access revision materials </li></ul><ul><li>94% of students thought the Gateway was an easier method of accessing revision resources. </li></ul>

What would they add? <ul><li>83% of students would like a space on each Gateway to add their revision resources. </li></ul><ul><li>38% would like to see gateways from all subjects. </li></ul><ul><li>More interactivity- work they could complete and send to their teachers for feedback. </li></ul>

  7. 7. Gateway usage in 60 days <ul><li>Looking at the first 60 days of Gateway </li></ul><ul><li>usage we can start to draw some tentative </li></ul><ul><li>conclusions which focus on: </li></ul><ul><li>Gender </li></ul><ul><li>Ability/Prior Attainment </li></ul><ul><li>Effort </li></ul>

Revision Gateway Usage <ul><li>228 year 11 students regularly accessed the revision gateway up until study leave. </li></ul><ul><li>Splitting the students into 3 equal thirds and averaging their usage is interesting! </li></ul><ul><li>76 Students viewed 144 pages each on average </li></ul><ul><li>76 Students viewed 277 pages each on average </li></ul><ul><li>76 students viewed 562 pages each on average. </li></ul>
  9. 9. Revision Gateway Usage <ul><li>From this we can identify three types of </li></ul><ul><li>users. </li></ul><ul><li>Very High Users </li></ul><ul><li>High Users </li></ul><ul><li>Moderate Users </li></ul>
  10. 10. Gender and Usage <ul><li>Very High Users 80% are boys 20% Girls </li></ul><ul><li>High Users 60% are boys 40% Girls </li></ul><ul><li>Moderate Users 77% are girls 23% boys </li></ul>
  11. 11. Prior Attainment and Usage <ul><li>Very High Users Have an average 555 in </li></ul><ul><li>their KS3 SATs </li></ul><ul><li>High Users Have an average 655 in their KS3 SATs </li></ul><ul><li>Moderate Users Have an average 665 in their KS3 SATs </li></ul>
  12. 12. Effort Grades and Usage <ul><li>All 3 groups averaged effort grades of 3.3. </li></ul><ul><li>Overall we can start to draw a conclusion that boys on the c/d borderline are the heaviest users of the gateway. </li></ul>
